•  Trial Period 

  •  If you join and after two weeks upon signup or June 15th you decide our boat club is not for you, you may cancel.  Any boat usage during this time will be at regular rental boat rates, just as if you rented, with a minimum cost of two (2) half-day rental rate - regardless of usage.  No refunds are offered beyond trial period.

  • Damage Deposit - maintain a $1500 deposit, returned at end of season without damage

  • House Account​​ - Credit card on file for gas, store, or other incidentals

  • Early & Late Season: May 19 – June 13 & Sept 3 – Sept 26, excludes Memorial Wknd

    • Hours 10-5 Daily

    • No half days - Any day is a "full day"

    • September Weekends - may have special circumstances​

  • Closed Dates - Sorry, No Club Boat Usage

• Members Requirements

  • No more than 2 people (a couple) from same household as one membership

    • Cannot share or split boat usage amongst friends, family, or children.

      • Examples that are not allowed 

        • Member’s children or other family or friends takes or uses the boat without member’s 100% participation (on the boat) 

  • Minimum 25 yrs of age

    • Comfortable and capable of operating a boat on Lake Charlevoix

    • Some boating knowledge required – Boater Safety Certificate

• General Rules:

  • Initial Orientation – Various forms, rules, procedures/process, lake and boating knowledge

  • Check in/out: Condition agreement form

  • Reservation Cancellation Rules: Do not reserve if you do not intend to go

  • Boat Cleanliness: same condition back as went out – pet hair, food/drinks, anchor line, etc.

  • Boat is to be treated and cared for as if it is your own.  

  • No Rafting off, no drunk/disorderly – safe boating practices

  • No overnight or use beyond hours listed.

  • Boats are strictly restricted to Lake Charlevoix & Round Lake - no Lake Michigan/Pine River Channel

• Boat Availability & Club Growth 

  • This is a brand new club.  The initial club boats will also be used as “day of rental boats".  What is a “Day of Rental Boat?  It is a boat that we will book for a rental on short notice for for a half, 6 hour, or full day rental.  We may book it for a rental on same day or after 3pm the day prior, which is also the cutoff time for booking a club boat.  .

    • Our Goal -  no more than 8 

  • Club Growth

    • Deck Hand Members (pontoon)

      • 6 Members – will make pontoon 1 a dedicated Club Only pontoon, 

      • 9 Members - will add second boat (subject to “day of” rentals

    • First Mate or Captain Members (tritoon)

      • 6 Members - will make tritoon 1 a dedicated Club Only tritoon

      • 10 Members – will add second tritoon (subject to “day of” rentals – keep in mind there is still availability of pontoon

    • Member growth beyond these numbers will depend on member type 

    • Note: for rentals we like to keep a “day of” rental boat.  Our goal is to have enough club members to support their own boats and not to utilize these “day of” rental boats.  Until we reach enough members we will also utilize these boats as “day of” rental boats.  

    • Our goal is not for this to be a large member club​

    • • We want to offer what we feel is an economical way for locals and seasonal residents to ​enjoy a nice new boat without a lot of the headaches or commitments of ownership

      • We can keep costs down by better boat and marina utilization

  • Since this is year 1 of the club we may make changes in future years to best reflect what members desire, whether that is to the boat type, pontoon or tritoon, or engine options.  Prices, conditions, and terms are subject to change in future years​
